Don’t Buy Usana Leads, Buy Customers Instead - Its Good Business. Wow that sounds like something new, and it is and you will be blown away when you research this.

We are all searching for the holy grail, so to speak. There are so many opportunities put in front of you on a daily basis that it becomes a pain in the B….It is a shame that most home businesses/opportunities, call them whatever you like are never what they seem. Everything sounds great it is a challenge to even know where to start. So where the heck do you start your search for a home based business?

If you are looking at network marketing, consider going with established companies. Why? Because they have overcome the challenge of being a viable business during the first 2 or 3 years. With start up companies, there are risks associated with it no matter how good it may seem. Most everything I have read recommends going with companies that have been around for several years. If that start up is so great, it will be a good choice in 3 years as well, also it means that there is no urgency involved, take your time in making your assessment. Let’s review one company in MLM that has stood the test of time called Usana.

Usana was founded in 1992 by Dr Myron Wentz. One thing that impressed me about the company was the fact that they produced all of their own product. There was no outsourcing. So what did that tell me? It showed me that they took responsibility for what they produced. There are a lot of MLM companies who out source and if or when there is a customer complaint they distance themselves from it. Not so Usana.

Here is a pertinent point to my story, in 2001 their active customer base had grown from 97,000 to 254,000 in 2007.

So I joined Usana and had an active upline, I took three business positions, it was full ahead steam for me. Or so I thought!

I came to a screeching stop realization that I needed some Usana leads, that was after I had exhausted my so called warm market. Lots of people thought the products were good and they actually said so but did not want to spend money for something they could get at the drugstore for a lesser price. I will not go into the quality argument here. So I needed customers and/or distributors. The way Usana is structured makes it very hard to build a residual income on customers only. So I needed some Usana leads. So did my upline, so we formed a cooperative, contributed financially and we were going to be OK.

The Usana leads we produced were targeted leads, they filled out lead capture pages for a home business, there was no smoke or mirrors. All carried out through Google Adwords campaigns.

Guess what, over a period five or six monthly campaigns, making phone calls religiously and doing all of the right things, I had not progressed.

Everything as far as the research was concerned was spot on, projected growth etc.

Then it pinged!

That growth that I mentioned earlier, from 2001 to 2007 was in active customers, some of that obviously consisted of distributors, however I thought it was worth investigating and went looking for a business based on Customers.

Guess what!

I found one.

How to Test The Health of Your Business

Which do you prefer - calling your Usana leads (I absolutely hate calling leads) or just buying customers?

Are you a slave to your computer and home based business, having to recruit people every month and I mean every month? If so, you are not alone. Although many network marketing companies offer good value in terms of products and services, many of them, including Usana have qualifications in place every month that distributors must meet to receive all the compensation benefits. It’s just a reality in the MLM industry. The industry is structured in such a way that it seems every time you get a distributor in the front door, one goes out the back door. Chasing the holy grail, so to speak.

Yo can search Google to find Leads companies that are eager to sell you dozens of leads, but they are not cheap

I don’t know about you, but I used to do that and hated it, meeting the requirements each month. I’m reminded about that each time I call someone I personally know in one of those companies at the end of the month and they are scrambling to make sure everyone is qualified. I was talking to someone the other day and she was telling me she had about 8 hours worth of calls to do because it was the end of the month. Those calls were to her distributors, to make sure they were on track. I was totally stunned, but glad that I never have to do that, anymore.

By the way, I am not picking on Usana because they are a very good company with excellent health and wellness products. Usana has been a leader in the network marketing industry since the early 90’s. Speaking of Usana, how do you build your Usana home business? Do you make a list, talk to your friends and family, or worse buy and call your Usana leads? Don’t like it? Well there is a better way than calling your Usana leads.

There has been a new paradigm shift in developing a home based business and a residual income by buying an asset, as opposed to having a liability. Yes, you heard me correctly. The vast majority of MLM companies are set up so that you are actually buying a liability.

When you first get started in your new home based business, you have to buy some product, which I have no problem with. However, you have to pretty much do everything, including paying for advertising, buying Usana leads, recruiting customers/distributors, following up with each one of them, training them, and ensuring the/y are qualified so you can get all the bonuses etc. Then after doing all of the ground work and getting your new Usana distributor up and running, you have to keep him/her motivated. You don’t want them straying! This is all quite stressful.
