HOW TO MAKE A LOT OF MONEY

How to make a lot of money may be the question of the times right now as the stock market keeps dropping. You thought you were safe and so did we all. We had saved and put money away for our retirement and for our Kids College and now it has dropped severely and still dropping. It is discouraging and a little scary for us all. They say the safest thing to do is just hold tight and wait and it will come back up. I hope they are right and I am going to do just that.

Some people give the advice to buy now when it is low and it has to gain eventually. That takes a little nerve but could be right. Well there are those who will do that and others will not take a chance. They may be so nervous they have to take what they have out and keep in under their mattress. I do not have advice to give you with this matter. I will tell you what I think about how to make a lot of money though.

I would advise anyone to start a home business and start building that business today. You can go as fast or as slow as you like. Of course that will have something to do the length of time it will take you to make that money. But if you start now and build slow and steady for a number of years you will be doing the right thing to make a lot of money. First choose the business wisely and then build steady. Use the way that you can build best. Just keep building slow and steady as possible. In time your business will make money and you can see how to make a lot of money doing this in this way.

I would recommend a company that builds with buying customers. Customers buy products and you get paid a commission and bonuses as your business grows. You can just keep investing and building your business and in a few years you will be making a lot of money. This is building slow instead of fast like most people want to do. Starting A Successful Home Based Business

With the economy seemingly coming apart at the seams, families everywhere are struggling to make ends meet. They are finding themselves more often than not, in need of extra income just to get by. Many of them are choosing to start a home business, rather than to look for a second job. This makes sense just considering the cost of gas, alone but as with any new venture in life, there is risk involved. How does the average person with no business background know how to start a home based business and a successful home based business at that? An in depth treatise on the subject would be difficult to tackle in one article and would probably bore the reader to tears in the process. However, there are a few basic principles that will help the aspiring entrepreneur get started in the right direction. Volumes have been written on how to succeed in business. That is not the purpose of this piece. The focus here is on getting started. Think of this article as “How to Start a Successful home based business 101.”

First, you need to determine your business niche. What interests you, what are you passionate about? Is it Golf, health and wellness, teaching a musical instrument, what interests you? You will be far more likely to succeed if your business is in a niche that you have an interest in and can have fun with. Second, there are lots of business models to chose from, such as MLM, direct sales, an online store, owning a booth at the local flea market, and so on. Some business models will be dictated by the niche you chose or how much money you want to make. Other than that, you’re really only limited by your own creativity. So, in order to know how to start a home based business you first have to know your niche and decide on what for you will be a successful home based business model. The main point here is you need to like what you’re doing and you need to have fun. It’s important that you enjoy what you are doing, otherwise all you will accomplish is to take on another job and what’s the fun in that?

Once you have decided on your niche and your business model, you need to do some research. There will be steps to take depending upon what you will be doing. If you want to own an eBay store, you will need to learn how to go about setting up and running the store, what products you will be selling, items from around the house or from yard sales or will you be working with a drop shipper, etc. If you want to teach guitar or piano, you will need a studio. This can be a room in your house or you can go to your students’ homes to teach. My point is, there will be steps to plan out and in order to start a successful home based business you need to go through that planning process, carefully and thoroughly. Many people like MLM’s because they are typically a turn-key business with systems and tools already in place. All you have to do is plug in and you’re on your way. But be careful, here. Chose an MLM wisely, products, compensation plan, marketability, and so forth. Another consideration is who you are signing up with. This person is going to be your mentor, you will need to be able to work with them. I personally like MLM, it’s a proven and very successful home based business model and can generate enormous amounts of money if it’s with marketable products and a good company.

Lastly, your goal is to start a home based business, not a hobby. You need to be passionate about it and treat it like a business or you will not be successful. You will only succeed to the degree that you apply yourself to the tools, the systems, the training and to the degree that you have passion and a business mindset. It can be tempting to not take this seriously but to do so is a recipe for failure. When the going gets tough, a hobby is much easier to quit than a business because a business carries with it a sense of ownership. Yes, have fun, by all means, have fun, but at the same time give your business the mental and physical energy it deserves. So, have a business mindset and remember why it was that you started it in the first place. I call this remembering your “why.” If your why is powerful enough, and you stay focused on it at all times, you will succeed, no matter what obstacles come your way. A Roadmap to Success - Home Based Business

Part 1

Have you ever wanted to start a home based business? Do you know how to develop a passive residual income or start a home business? Why do you want a home based business? These are important questions you must ponder and give some thought to. How do I get started or where do I go to learn about all this stuff? If you are reading this, I hope it’s because you wish to build a peaceful residual income and take control of your life.

From all that I have learned, read and observed over the past 10 years in the network marketing profession, successful people have 3 common traits that they have to build a solid passive residual income.

Those 3 elements are:

(1) A big “Why”
(2) Heart
(3) Being Coachable

Without those 3 elements as a foundation, everything else doesn’t matter in my opinion. You see - those 3 critical traits sets the stage for building a successful home based business and going through the ups and downs of creating a residual income. One must seriously consider their “Why” - because it will require they invest 10-15 hours a week over the next 3 to 5 years minimum if they want a solid home business. If it’s only for the money, they will not last because money at some point in the future will not be the driving force to building a passive residual income. Your why is your core desire about why you want to invest so much time in a home based business and what is it that you truly want out of life. For example, it could be to have your significant other home with the kids on a full time basis. It could be to have a better quality of life for your family, taking an extra vacation, purchasing a new vehicle or all of the above.

In other words, is your “why” big enough to push you through those challenging times when your business is not going so well or its late at night and your tired in need of some sleep. Successful people have a big why and are willing to forgo some sleep, invest some extra time away from the family to get the business going. By the way, to have a successful home based business and develop a residual income, you will sacrifice some time with your family. It’s simply not possible to work full time, develop a home business and devote the same time to your family. I’m not suggesting this will last forever, but your why needs to be important enough that you understand the reason you are doing this home based business. It’s because you want a better quality of life.

The second element is you need to truly care about helping others succeed and having a heart. Help enough people get what they want and you will in time achieve your level of success in a home based business. If you are only in this for yourself, good luck. Over the years I have seen many people fail in our business who didn’t fully understand the truth in that line. They felt they didn’t need the “Personal Growth” material, all they needed were the mechanics, and the Nuts & Bolts, scripts etc and they would just “do it”. With a touch of arrogance perhaps they just felt they knew all about that stuff and were above taking the time to learn how to become more every day.

Leaders are readers and understand that nobody is ever finished that journey. That one major quality of all real leaders is that they constantly are working upon themselves to be better and more each day. Remember, this is a people business and you need to invest time in people and develop a relationship over the long term to create a truly successful home based business and have a solid residual income in network marketing.

The third element and perhaps one of the most important is how coachable are you. Our business is a “People Business”. We are in the business of attracting quality people and helping them enhance their lives by enhancing the lives of others. If you are the type of person that knows it all, good luck again. It doesn’t hurt you to let someone else help you be successful in your home based business. I learned this from a very good friend and my coach - Cameron Howard. We used to butt heads a lot many years ago and still do some days, but I can truly say without hesitation that I have learned so much from him and am very thankful that he invested time with me. A good coach and mentor will be your roadmap, invest time in you and help you become successful to the best of their abilities.

We must be coachable to attract other people that are also coachable. As we grow into a stronger position of leadership, we develop the skills to coach the coaches to coach the coachable. Everybody is always a Leader-In-Training and remains so.

So, are you coachable? Take a moment and look at the results in your life to date and ponder where you may have been more trainable and thus more successful. Perhaps you have read all “those” books and feel you know better. If you attract others just like yourself, and you will - are they going to succeed with their present attitudes and philosophies? Experience has proven to us that only those that are truly coachable grow into positions of leadership. All leaders are fully aware that they must first be followers and remain open minded to learning more always. Does that describe you?

A good coach and mentor, is about being a friend and creating a relationship, realizing it just takes time. Respect is earned. If we do not invest time in people we will not be successful, thus we will not be able to develop a solid residual income or have a successful and long lasting home based business. The secret is to develop the skill to know who best to invest our time with. People are an intangible thing. It takes time to truly get to know another person and even at that we only know most people somewhat. To further complicate matters, there is no way to know beforehand just who is going to be successful. There is no way to truly be sure if a person’s desire to BE Free is so strong that they will go through the obstacles on the path to success.

Many people enter our home business with a ton of people handling skills, leadership experience, family needs etc, in short, all that one would think they need to be tremendously successful and they never do a thing. Others, with little experience etc just go out and “do it” because they want it so bad they will pay the price to learn the skills necessary to succeed.

There is no proven way to measure the “Right Stuff” of a person until they are actually in the field doing it. There are “leading indicators” that suggest the potential is there however. These take time to ascertain and become aware of. It can’t be done effectively and consistently in a 5 or 10 minute conversation. It just takes time to get to know people and for them to get to know us. If you want a solid home based business and a solid residual income, realize you need to invest time in people, develop respect for each other and be a friend.
