Weight Loss Tips

Teenagers have so many stresses in their lives in this day and age that it is a pity that the stress of weight loss has to be added to the list

With celebrities all losing weight these days, especially teen stars,
it is no wonder that teenagers want to have the slimmest bodies
ever.

There are currently hundreds of diet programs on the market, so
dieting is not really that hard, especially if you are focused on your target weight and determined to lose those extra pounds. It is important,
though, that you look for a diet that will fit your needs and will
still keep you healthy.

Although most of the diet programs on the market work up to a point, getting started on some of the programs can be quite expensive. Teenager may not be able
to afford some of the diet programs out there and they will therefore need to choose a weight loss regime that doesn’t involved the extra costs.

There is actually no great secret to successful weight loss. The right kind of
dieting is composed of two things, a balanced diet and moderate
consistent exercise. Below are some weight loss tips that may help you
start the diet program. See what works for you.

Cut down on fatty meats

Avoid foods that add extra calories that you don’t need. This means
that you should avoid foods that are rich in fats and carbohydrates.
Reduce your intake of red meat such as beef and pork. You are much
better off to eat white meat such as chicken and turkey and fish.

Choose fruits

Fruits are healthy foods that provide a balance of nutrients. They are
also a good source of fibers that help the digestive system metabolize
the foods that we take into our bodies. Fruits are also great sources
of vitamins and minerals that will not only keep your body healthy but
will also keep your skin and other body functions in tip-top shape.

Eat veggies.

Veggies are foods that are low in caloric content but rich in fibers,
vitamins and minerals. A vegetarian meal once in a while can help you
lose those unwanted pounds.

Exercise routine

The other side of any weight loss program is the exercise. It is not
enough that you just eat the right kinds of food. Doing this will only
prevent you from gaining more weight. If you really want to lose
weight, diet and exercise go hand in hand.

Most people think that a bit of exercise every now and then will be
good enough. This is not the case. In order to really lose weight, it
is important that you establish an exercise routine that you follow
through with it.

Commitment

Without commitment your weight loss
program is unlikely to be successful. To succeed at losing weight, you really have to want to lose weight.
There is no half measure. Total and absolute
commitment is necessary. Otherwise, you are just wasting your time.

In summary, you have to eat healthily (skip that junk food!), get into
an exercise program, and commit yourself to losing the weight. It may
not be easy, but the end results are sure worth it!

Have you noticed and wondered about the drugstore that shows up on one corner then, low and behold sooner than later another drugstore opens on the opposite side. Even here in my little community we have two. It just seems like it wasn’t that long ago and they were closing up drug stores. Well, guess what? They anticipate the baby boomers(who are getting older) and prescription drugs. Which got me thinking about another thing, the T.V. advertisements for pharmaceutical drugs. When you take the time to listen to them, it gets even scarier, for at the end they tell you about possible side affects. Sometimes the cure (their pill) seems to be worse than the illness. Our diets are atrocious, and even I am guilty of unhealthy eating.

So what is one to do?

Take your life and your health back into your own hands for one. As my friend says if you haven’t got your health …..well you know! We all would like to assure that we live longer and healthier but with today’s lifestyles it is quite often put on the back burner. Think about it, if you could do things, to help ensure your health would you? I for one will, because at the age of 50, I am very healthy, and want to keep it that way.

Even if you have chronic illness there are things you can do, but is it important enough to take steps?
According to the CDC(Centers for Diease Controls)”Chronic diseases—such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes—are the leading causes of death and disability in the United States. Chronic diseases account for 70% of all deaths in the U.S., which is 1.7 million each year. These diseases also cause major limitations in daily living for almost 1 out of 10 Americans or about 25 million people. Although chronic diseases are among the most common and costly health problems, they are also among the most preventable..”

Did you notice that? They are also the most preventable.
I am not calling for major lifestyle change, but it could be your doing that all by yourself, what I am saying is that you can start right where you are and make it easy on yourself by taking small steps in the right direction.
I personally feel that small steps work much easier that a complete about face.

You know the unhealthy aspects of your life, be honest with yourself, and what can you start doing today?
Maybe try some healthier foods and incorporate them little into your diet? I have to admit, I love Chocolate, drives my family nuts, for I always have chocolate in the freezer, in the cupboards, and on the counter. But since adding a few healthy things into my diet, I find that I don’t crave it as much. Hence, now they can’t believe I don’t have Chocolate! Seems I can’t win for lose. Anyways, I started with a lite, easy breakfast with some friut, or good cereal, etc. After trying that, I found it was what I prefered to eat. Now I do want chocolate sometimes, and I don’t deny myself, and I don’t beat myself up over it either. I drink more water, which was tuff, but after awhile, it got so that was what I was thirsty for. Water is so good for you, and if you are not a water drinker just start by filling a glass and slipping it during the day. That’s easy enough to do. I take All Natural Vitamins, this is an important part of my daily routine. In Fact, I can tell a diiference in the way I feel If I don’t take them!

How about exercise? My dog walks me twice a day, so we walk about 2 to 3 miles a day. It wasn’t always this way, I started walking him once in a while, but it became like his daily mission, so hence he walks me. We live in Northern Michigan, and the weather doesn’t stop us, though I will admitt that somedays in the dead of winter I would like to skip it, but he won’t let me get out of it which is a good thing, as it does not matter what kind of mood I am in, I feel better and lighter when we get back. The plus side, well, the dog is even doing better, has lost weight, and is showing a much improved condition with his hips. So it has helped him also..
Can you find time to walk, or find a friend to exercise with you? We walk in the mornings by ourselves my dog and me, but in the evening a couple of my neighbor ladies walk with us. I have found I love the quiet morning walks, starting my day by smelling seeing and hearing things all around me, time to comtemplate my day. But the evening walks are time to visit and enjoy the company of others. So think about adding exercise a little at a time until it becomes a habit. When you first start out, it may not feel good but, in time it really does get to the point where you fell better, and look forward to your exercise routine.

I also spend some time each day for myself concerning my emotional health. Like reading or listening to something uplifting, good music that inspires me and sometimes just comtemplating good things. It’s very easy to get into a negative pattern and even harder to get out of that pattern. I think our emotional health is just as important, and as the saying goes…if you feel good everyone around you benefits!
Make you a priority, it doesn’t have to cut in to your whole day and you can make it very easy on yourself by starting out small and working up. The one thing to remember is to give yourself a break. If you decide to change, don’t ever beat yourself up, if you slip up. We’re human, it takes time to create new habits and every moment is a new moment, so be kind to yourself in the process, you’ll find it a whole lot easier!
